Equally important is the role of diversity, inclusion, and respect. “We should always show care to our employees by listening to their voices and addressing their needs,” Juliet says. As such, employees’ voices are listened to via quarterly townhall meetings and employee engagement surveys. It also strives to cultivate a culture of appreciation by launching “Employee Wellbeing Month” to recognise employees’ efforts, and partnering with social enterprises to increase employability of disabilities. FTLife encourages every employee to keep going from strength to strength, strive for excellence and walking its talk by supporting them to attain their personal and team goals.
All these measures have achieved remarkable results. Compared to two years ago (2020/2019), the average number of sick leave days per employee dropped 53%; medical claims amount per employee decreased 10%; and the retention rate of high-performing employees increased 5%. Also, 29% of new joiners to the FTLife family in 2021 were recruited via its employee referral programme.
As FTLife looks forward to its new chapter, embracing change and transformation is imperative to the company’s success. Along with the impact of COVID-19 and the global trend of digitalisation, the business environment has been changing from time to time, and the role of HR has evolved from one of focusing on operation to a proactive and strategic planner. “To be responsive to market changes, we have to take initiatives to forecast market trend and provide strategic planning to company leaders related to talent acquisitions, employee retention, performance management, etc. Our strategy is to make a transformation from personal alignment to company values, which ultimately achieves organisational success.” Juliet adds.
